English, p.215

King Childebert fell ill: for a long time he lay bed-ridden in Paris and then he died. He was buried in the church of Saint Vincent, which he himself had built. King Lothar took over his kingdom and his treasury. He sent Queen Ultrogotha and her two daughters into exile. Chramn had an audience with his father, but he once more showed that he could not be trusted. When he saw that he could not escape his father's vengeance, he fled to Brittany and there he himself, his wife and his daughters went into hiding with Chanao, the Count of the Bretons. The priest Willichar sought sanctuary in the church of Saint Martin. Through the sins of the people and because of this wanton behaviour which used to take place there, this holy edifice was set on fire by Willichar and his wife, a misfortune which it grieves me greatly to have to relate. The previous year much of the city of Tours had been burnt down and many of its churches had been left desolate. Now King Lothar decreed that Saint Martin's church should be roofed with tin and restored to its former glory.

Deutsch, S.223
